Cyclothe recognized for its social entrepreneurship

Cyclothe has been selected for support through Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation’s social entrepreneurship initiative, recognizing its work to address one of the key challenges in textile circularity: the missing infrastructure between collection and reuse.

“If Sweden is to succeed in its transition to a circular economy, we also need the infrastructure that makes it possible to keep textiles in use for longer and direct them towards reuse, repair and recycling based on their actual value. Cyclothe has already developed several of the solutions needed, and this project is crucial for taking the next step from verified prototypes to Sweden’s first operational Circular Hub. We are proud to support this initiative and help keep more resources in circulation for longer.”

— Andreas Eriksson, Secretary General, Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation.

Cyclothe’s infrastructure connects secure collection, smart sorting, reuse and recycling, making it easier for everyone to participate in the circular economy. By identifying, tracking and directing textiles towards reuse, repair, or recycling based on their condition and remaining value, the system helps keep textiles in circulation for longer. This reduces the need for newly produced textiles, contributing to lower carbon emissions, reduced water consumption, and more efficient use of natural resources.

“Collecting textiles is only the first step. The real challenge is making sure they can be reused, repaired, or recycled in the most resource-efficient way. We want to create an ecosystem where residents, property owners, municipalities, reuse organizations and producers can easily contribute to more reuse and less textile waste.”

— Calvin Woolley, Co-Founder / CEO.

With support from the Foundation, Cyclothe will further develop and integrate its circular textile infrastructure, taking the next step towards establishing its first operational Circular Hub as part of its Circular Resource Infrastructure (CRI), planned for Sickla in Nacka.

“We believe real behavioural change starts with a system designed around people. That’s why we’re building an experience that not only makes participation easy but also gives people transparency into what happens to their textiles, rewards their contributions, and makes them feel part of the circular economy. Because lasting changes require more than good intentions. It needs the right system to support it.”

— Halit Kosmaz, Founder / CTO.
