Cyclothe Enters Commercial Scale-Up as Former IKEA Global Sustainable Business Manager for Textiles, Calvin Woolley Joins as Co-founder & CEO

The Swedish technology company is scaling the physical and digital infrastructure layer connecting collection, identification, logistics, and circular markets — turning textile waste into traceable, high-value resource flows.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — Cyclothe, the Swedish circular technology company, has entered its next phase of commercial growth with the appointment of Calvin Woolley as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. Calvin Woolley will lead Cyclothe’s transition from technology validation to the international deployment and commercial scale-up of its Circular Resource Infrastructure.

Calvin Woolley brings over 25 years of international textile industry leadership, including 15 years driving global textile sustainability and circularity initiatives at Inter IKEA. In his previous role leading global textile sustainability strategy, he spearheaded large-scale sustainable transformation, responsible sourcing frameworks, and circular supply chain integration. A textile engineer by background (BSc Hons, University of Bolton) and a respected voice across the global textile ecosystem, he brings an intimate understanding of end-to-end supply chains, enterprise brand requirements, and the structural friction that has historically prevented circular systems from scaling.

Calvin Woolley’s appointment marks an intentional shift as Cyclothe moves from proprietary technology development to widespread commercial deployment. Rather than operating as an isolated recycling or waste-management vendor, Cyclothe is building an integrated physical and digital infrastructure that connects citizens, retailers, municipalities, extended producer responsibility (EPR) systems, and secondary markets into a single, fully traceable resource loop. By integrating smart intake points, AI-driven identification, and data-backed sorting logistics, the infrastructure systematically prioritizes reuse, repair, and repurposing before mechanical or chemical recycling, keeping products and fibers at their highest financial and material value.

“We have spent the past years building the underlying technology, developing our system architecture, and proving the operating model,” said Halit Kosmaz, Founder of Cyclothe. “Bringing Calvin into Cyclothe as Co-founder and CEO marks our deliberate transition from developing infrastructure to deploying it commercially at industrial scale. His deep command of the global textile value chain, global brand dynamics, and supply chain transformation gives us the exact leadership required to navigate this next phase.”

“The textile sector does not suffer from a lack of circular ambition; it suffers from a lack of functioning infrastructure capable of translating ambition into measurable, high-value resource flows at scale,” said Calvin Woolley, Co-founder and CEO of Cyclothe. “Cyclothe is building that missing layer — linking people, products, cities, brands, and recyclers through one connected, intelligent system. After more than two decades inside the global industry, I recognized that Cyclothe’s approach is the linchpin the industry has been waiting for. That is why I decided not only to lead the company as CEO, but to step in as a co-founder to help scale this vision alongside Halit and our partners.”

Company Outlook & Strategic Focus

Cyclothe enters this executive transition with accelerating momentum, backed by successful pilot validation across Swedish innovation ecosystems, municipal programs, and urban transition testbeds. Under Calvin Woolley’s executive leadership, Cyclothe will execute two primary strategic mandates:

  1. Commercial Market Deployment: Accelerating rollouts of Cyclothe’s smart collection network and AI-powered sorting architecture across municipal districts, retail partners, and regional waste frameworks across the Nordics and broader Europe.
  1. Circular Market Integration: Expanding the company’s traceable downstream marketplace, establishing commercial conduits for certified reuse, resale, and high-grade textile recycling partners.
